Atebubu-Amantin District
The Atebubu-Amantin Municipal is one of the municipals of the Bono East Region of Ghana, formerly of Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Its capital is Atebubu. It is one of the 11 districts of the Bono East Region of Ghana.[1]

History
Atebubu-Amantin district was created out of the former Atebubu District on November 12, 2003.[2] This was after the Pru District was carved out of the former Atebubu District.[3] It was established by the legislative instrument LI 1770. [4]
District Substructure
As of 2005, the district comprised seven zonal councils. These were Atebubu urban council, Amantin Town Council, Jato Zongo Area Council, Konkrompe Area Council, Nyomoase Area Council, Akokoa Area Council and the Duabone Area Council.[5]
Population
According to the 2012 population and housing census of Ghana the population of the Atebubu-Amantin District was 105,938. 50.7% of the population was of male and females made up 49.3% of the population. Majority of the population reside in the two principal towns of Atebubu and Amantin.[6]
