Association de la Sommellerie Internationale
The Association de la Sommellerie Internationale is a nonprofit organization founded in Reims in 1969 to develop and promote the sommelier profession around the world. Every three years, it holds a competition in an international city and names a person as the best sommelier in the world.

The World's Best Sommelier Competition has been in existence since 1969.[1]

gollark: It's not as if we have enough of an understanding of human minds and consciousness and whatever that "sophont" and "free will" and all that are well-defined.
gollark: There was that thing where some scientists put... flies, I think it was, in some environment where they couldn't have much of a population. They did not evolve to have fewer young or something. They evolved to cannibalize each other's young.
