Elections

Anthony Effah, the current MP for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency was elected in the 2016 Ghanaian general election. He won just over 50% of the total votes cast.[1] Asikuma has been represented by slightly different constituencies over the years. It was initially the Ajumako-Asikuma constituency. In the 1965 Ghanaian parliamentary election, it was split from Ajumako and became the Asikuma constituency. During the Fourth Republic of Ghana, it became the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency starting with the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election. Its first MP was Ebenezer Kobina Fosu[2] who successfully held his seat in the 1996 Ghanaian parliamentary election.[3]
