Ashleigh Plumptre

Ashleigh Plumptre (born 8 May 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Leicester City in the FA Women's Championship.[1]

Club and college career

Plumptre started her senior career with Notts County, having played for Asfordby Amateurs, Leicester City, Birmingham City and Derby County at youth level, making 10 appearances in all competitions during her time with the club, scoring once and reaching the 2015 FA Women's Cup Final and 2015 FA WSL Cup final.[1] Plumptre moved to the United States in 2016 to join the USC Trojans women's soccer team, playing 17 times, helping the Trojans to the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.[2] Plumptre went on to play a total of 77 times, scoring 5 goals across her college career, earning multiple honors.[2]

In December 2019, Plumptre returned to Leicester City in the FA Women's Championship, with the foxes having beaten FA Women's Super League competition to sign her.[3]

International career

Plumptre represented England at U17 level, scoring 4 times in 6 games.[1] Plumptre was also part of the England U23 team for the 2016 La Manga Tournament.[2]
