During WWI he served as an ambulance driver with the French Army and later with the United States Army. He also became a first lieutenant and was later awarded the French Croix de Guerre. After the war, he graduated from the University of Virginia in 1917 and then from Virginia Theological Seminary from where he gained his Bachelor of Divinity in 1924.

Ordained ministry

Kinsolving was ordained deacon in 1924 and priest in 1925. He served as assistant minister at the Church of St Paul of the University of Virginia from 1924 till 1927. Later he became chaplain at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. Between 1933 ans 1940 he served as Dean of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York.

Episcopacy

In 1959, after the Missionary District of Arizona was established as the Diocese of Arizona, he became its first diocesan bishop. He retired a dew years later in 1962. He died on June 15, 1965, in Carmel, California.

Family

In addition to his father being a bishop, Kinsolving's uncle, George Herbert Kinsolving, his father's half brother, was the second Bishop of Texas. gollark: (again, more if healthcare is overloaded)
gollark: I am still *somewhat* scared of something like a 2% risk of death.
gollark: Well, isn't comparatively bad.
gollark: Just because something *isn't bad now* doesn't mean it can't be bad *later*.
