Anthony Volpe

Anthony Michael Volpe (born April 28, 2001) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the New York Yankees organization.

Career

Volpe attended Delbarton School.[1][2] As a senior, he hit .488 with seven home runs, 34 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases.[3] He was named the 2019 New Jersey High School Player of the Year by Perfect Game.[4] Volpe committed to play college baseball at Vanderbilt University.[5]

Volpe was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft.[6][7] He signed on June 10 for $2.7 million,[8] and made his professional debut with the Pulaski Yankees.[9][10] Over 34 games, he batted .215 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
