Statue of the Republic
He was born at San Felice del Benaco, near Brescia. In 1904 he moved to Rome, where he met Felice Carena. He won the contract for the realization of sculptures in the large Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II in the same city, to which he worked until 1925. They include the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the statue of Goddess Rome.
He usually worked for public commissions, also abroad.

gollark: I'm going to go for just updating caddy *first*, since I wanted to do that for a while anyway.

gollark: Yes. Also working: wscat, the node.js `ws` package's client, and Firefox on my phone; it's probably *somewhat* on Firefox's end, but I imagine it might be some weird interaction between the server and client.
gollark: As I said, if this is somehow a webserver issue, I'm hoping caddy 2 will fix it, so I'm reading the docs to prepare for an upgrade to that.
