Alok Kumar Suman

Dr. Alok Kumar Suman is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India from Gopalganj in the 2019 Indian general election as member of the Janata Dal (United).[1]

Early life and education

Suman was born in Chamar community.[2] He worked as labourer on farms to meet daily needs and to buy slate and books so he could continue his primary education.

After completing high school, went to Science College Patna for his Indian School Certificate and then did his Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery and Master of Surgery degrees from Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Career

After completing his master's degree, he worked as a resident doctor in Rammanohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi and then as a medical officer and chief medical officer in the Bihar government.
