Florida Politics named Andrade a "winner" of Florida's 2020 Legislative Session because of his pursuit of high-profile conservative policies in the Legislature.[1]
In 2019, Andrade passed House Bill 7105, a bill that puts military families on the same level of support as families of police officers and firefighters when their spouses die in the line of duty.[2]
The National Rifle Association endorsed Andrade in both 2018 and 2020.[3]
In 2017, Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Andrade to serve as a judicial nominating commissioner for the 1st Circuit Court of Florida. He was reappointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.[4]
Anti-abortion advocacy group Florida Right to Life endorsed Andrade in the 2020 Republican primary.[5]
Career
Andrade defeated Greg Merk in the August 28, 2018 Republican primary, winning 60.5% of the vote.[6] He was unopposed in the general election.
