Albert Charles Smith

Albert Charles Smith (April 5, 1906 – May 23, 1999) was an American botanist.

Life

He was a director of the National Museum of Natural History,[1] and chaired several important scientific societies, such as the American Society of Plant Taxonomists.

Smith was elected to membership in the United States National Academy of Sciences in 1963,[2] and was a distinguished botanist who specialized in Pteridophytes and Spermatophytes. He worked in the United States and Fiji.[3]
