Ajas-pasha

Ajas-pasha (? - Anatolia,[1] 1486 ) was a Bosnian sanjak-bey and later pasha in Ottoman service.

He played a key role in the development of Visoko from Bosnian medieval type of town[2] to Ottoman styled urban organization. He legalised his waqf in 1477 hammam, shops, maktab, water supply system, bridge on river Bosna, madrasa and Naqshbandi khanqah[3] which he built in Visoko.

He was sanjak-bey of Bosnia from 1470-75., 1477–78 and in 1483.[4] He ruled Herzegovina as sanjak-bey from 1478–80 and 1481-83. In 1472 he raided Croatian littoral, Istria and Friuli region, and in 1482 captured Herceg Novi, for which he was awarded title pasha.[5]
