Mixed martial arts career

Cella was a contestant on the 17th season of The Ultimate Fighter as a member of Team Jones. To make it onto the show, Cella defeated Jake Heun by first round armbar. Cella was later eliminated from the show via a spinning kick to the head in a match with Uriah Hall.[4]

Cella's first professional fight following his stint on the show took place in the UFC against fellow TUF 17 contestant Tor Troéng. Troéng defeated Cella by rear naked choke in the first round of their bout. Cella was subsequently released from the promotion following the loss.

After three fights in Shamrock FC in 2013 and 2014, Cella fought Danny Davis Jr. at World Series of Fighting 17: Shields vs. Foster in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 17, 2015. He lost the three round fight via unanimous decision.

Cella fought Kyle Kurtz at Bellator 138 and lost via submission due to armbar.

Cella faced Chel-Erwin Davis at Bellator 145 in his third fight of 2015 and lost via TKO.[5]
