Background

The title track of the album is the eighth song, "Adı Bende Saklı". It is composed by Greek composer Yannis Karalis; the original composition is called "ECLIPSE (instrumental from album ODYSSEY - international release – July 1997)". The lyrics were written by Sezen Aksu and late Meral Okay, one of her best and longest lasting friends.[1] The song has been the topic of many controversies. Sezen Aksu's version of the song copies the original music of "ECLIPSE" in its entirety, (without the consent of the composer), which Sezen Aksu admits was done on purpose and legally. The controversy is believed to be the result of crediting the wrong person with the song in the Sezen Aksu album. This imitation nevertheless was a major commercial Turkish success topping over 1.5 million units sold without any mention of the song's original composer Yannis Karalis.

"Adı Bende Saklı" is an ode to a former lover of the singer. According to her friends, Sezen Aksu fell in love with a bodyguard in İzmir. They rented a small house together, only to be discovered by the bodyguard's two daughters. Sezen Aksu thought an already established family and the children deserve happiness, not her, thus the lyrics " … mutluluk en çok onun hakkı…" in the repeat of the song. The name of the bodyguard is not common knowledge, hence the name of the song is "Adı Bende Saklı", which roughly translated to "His Name is My Secret".[2]

Three songs from the album had videos: "Tutuklu", "Adı Bende Saklı" and "Ruhuma Asla". The album received critical acclaim by many and is also seen as a benchmark 1990s Turkish pop music album.

gollark: Good reasons. Anyway, I'll see I can fix it for you, <@129553195314839552>.
gollark: I'm not sure what causes that exactly, but I can probably try for a hacky patch now.
