He played for RC Kadiogo.[1]

He made his international debut for Burkina Faso in 2017.[1]

On August 9, 2018, Al-Nojoom has signed Burkinabé Goalkeeper Aboubacar Sawadogo for on seasons by buying the player's card from RC Kadiogo represent Al-Nojoom from the new season of the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League .[2] On August 9, Yao was appointed by the Al-Nojoom.
