It appears to have originally consisted of the 70th Division (now 3rd Guard Division), 71st Division, and 72nd Division. The 74th Division joined after the disbandment of the 25th Corps, and was subsequently redesignated.

It was part of the Beijing Military Region.

In the early 2000s, Blasko listed the army as consisting of the:[1]

  • Headquarters, 24th Group Army, Chengde, Hebei
    • 70th Division
    • 71st Division
    • 1st Armored Division (People's Republic of China) (Tianjin)
    • Artillery Brigade, Changli
    • Anti-Aircraft Artillery Brigade

gollark: Or mod 1? Hm.
gollark: I don't think the spec technically forbids u0s for the tape and doing all arithmetic mod 0.
gollark: It's computable if the tape can only contain 0s.
