Preseason
Death of Bryce Gowdy
On December 30, 2019, Georgia Tech signee Bryce Gowdy, from Deerfield Beach, Florida, committed suicide by walking in front of a freight train.[1][2] He died aged 17 and had received a full scholarship to play football at Georgia Tech, having signed on December 18.[3]
ACC media poll
The ACC media days will be held on July 17-18, 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Schedule
Spring game
The Yellow Jackets held spring practices until early March, when the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of all NCAA activities. The Georgia Tech football spring game was scheduled to take place in Atlanta, GA on April 10, 2020, but was also cancelled.
Regular schedule
Georgia Tech had games scheduled against Gardner–Webb and Georgia, which were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4][5] This will be the first season since 1924 that the Yellow Jackets do not play Georgia.
