2020–21 Macclesfield Town F.C. season
The 2020–21 season will be Macclesfield Town's first season back in the National League following relegation from EFL League Two during the previous season. Despite finishing the 2019–20 league season in 23rd place and normally in the relegation zone, Macclesfield were due to avoid relegation as a result of the knock-on effects of Bury's expulsion from League One.[2] As a result of an appeal by the English Football League, Macclesfield, who originally received a two-point deduction with a further four points suspended for the following season, had their suspended four-point deduction applied to the 2019–20 season meaning they finished bottom.[3]
