2009 Oceania Cup
The 2009 Oceania Cup was held from 25 to 29 August 2009 in Invercargill, New Zealand. Three teams competed in both the men's and women's tournaments. The winners of this tournament qualified for the 2010 Men's and Women's Hockey World Cups.[1]

Australia won the men's tournament, defeating New Zealand 3–1 in the final. While in the women's tournament, New Zealand defeated Australia 4–3 in a penalty shoot-out after the final finished 2–2.[2]
