1989 Singaporean presidential election
An election was held on 31 August 1989 to elect the President of Singapore.[1] It is the last time the Singaporean president was elected by the Parliament of Singapore before the first direct presidential election in 1993.

Wee Kim Wee was unanimously re-elected by the parliament for his second four-year term.
During the election, 69 members of Parliament were present and 13 members were absent.[2]
Wee was sworn in for his second term as president on 2 September 1989.[3]
