1979–80 Cypriot Second Division

The 1979–80 Cypriot Second Division was the 25th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. Nea Salamis Famagusta FC won their 2nd title.[1]

Format

Fourteen teams participated in the 1979–80 Cypriot Second Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team was promoted to 1980–81 Cypriot First Division. The last two teams were relegated to the 1980–81 Cypriot Third Division.

gollark: The current system, whatever you label it, works fairly well. There are definitely problems. So many problems. Also lots of room for significant improvements without getting rid of it all. But it works decently well without requiring everyone to magically get along fine and the world is steadily increasing in prosperity.
gollark: If your thing only works for self-selected small groups, then it's hardly a good way to organize... our whole global societies comprising 7 billion people, quite a lot of whom don't like each other.
