1978 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship

The 1978 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 88th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887.

On 15 October 1978, Kilruane MacDonaghs were the defending champions.

Kilruane MacDonaghs won the championship after a 2-14 to 2-13 defeat of Roscrea in the final at Semple Stadium.[1] It was their second championship title overall and their second title in succession.
