1976–77 Newport County A.F.C. season

The 1976–77 season was Newport County's 15th consecutive season in the Football League Fourth Division and their 49th season overall in the Football League. The season became known as the "Great Escape"[1] as County were entrenched in the re-election places until the very last game of the season and would almost certainly have been voted out of the league had they finished there.

gollark: I love those!
gollark: It does also make some debugging more annoying when the HTML is just a solid block of nigh-unwhitespaced code.
gollark: The minifier osmarks.tk uses *does* do the unquoting thing, but the savings are minimal.
gollark: no.
gollark: EmacsOS is definitely TC.
