1877 Wimbledon Championship – Singles

Spencer Gore defeated William Marshall, 6–1, 6–2, 6–4 in the final to win the inaugural Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 1877 Wimbledon Championships.[1][2][3]

gollark: Broadly speaking, to the best of my knowledge: TVs accept commands from remotes as modulated infrared somehow. The basic modulation stuff is fairly consistent, but not all TVs support the same set of commands. So universal remote things can work by recording the data another remote sends when you press a particular button, saving it, and replaying it when you press a button on it.
