About

Radio Exe is a locally focused radio station for Exeter and the surrounding area that is designed to appeal to a broad range of adult listeners, particularly those aged 35–54, with a full service of comprehensive news and local information, engaging speech features and conversation and a wide variety of music from the 1960s to the present day.[2]

History

Exeter FM launched on 18 February 2008 as part of the London-based Sunrise Radio Group.

In June 2011, the station was taken over by Exe Broadcasting Ltd, a new company owned by local broadcasters Paul Nero and Mark Tyler.

The re-branded Radio Exe began broadcasting on Tuesday 10 January 2012 at 7:55 am, when breakfast presenter Ben Clark played Billy Joel’s River of Dreams.

In August 2016, Devon Radio Ltd, owned fully by Celador Radio sold their 40% share in Radio Exe. This also lead to the resignation of Paul Smith CBE, a director of the station who is also the Chairman of Celador resulting in the station becoming 100% locally controlled and owned.[3]

gollark: The idea is that it can work even if your internet connection is disconnected, but only on pages you've previously visited.
gollark: Yes, offline mode.
gollark: The current implementation has... several problems:- it keeps cached data even if osmarks.tk is updated- it intercepts requests to dynamic stuff like IncDec and Isso, which is normally fine but makes it break oddly in offline mode- it seems to re-request everything all the time.
gollark: I should probably fix the service worker it uses for offline mode, though.
gollark: Died?
