Lud Squeamix was the dean of the Sanctaphrax viaduct school, the Department of Psycho-Climatic Studies. During the events of Midnight Over Sanctaphrax, Lud Squeamix and his obscure department were thrown into prominence as the weather events produced by the Mother Storm became more chaotic. His department eagerly studied the Mind Storms that affected emotions in Sanctaphrax and Undertown.

Arrogant and stubborn, Lud Squeamix refused to leave Sanctaphrax during the evacuation. When Twig and Cowlquape severed the Anchor Chain, the Sanctaphrax rock floated away into open sky, taking Lud Squeamix and several other professors with it.
