I am trying to set up a system where particular cells on various spreadsheets can only have data scanned into them. It will also be necessary to disable the ability to input data into that particular cell using a keyboard. Is this possible please? Nothing complicated please I have very limited skills!!

There aren't a lot of questions on SU about this type of scanning in general and this is a unique requirement. If you don't luck out that somebody with the right expertise catches your question here, you might want to look for a specialized forum dedicated to scanning. Looking from that angle might be better at finding how to adapt applications to scanning requirements. Do a Google search on variations of your question and see where it leads.
