Any tips please? I have a 840 EVO SSD, a SATA Hard Drive to IDE (ATA-133/100) UDMA PATA Adapter and XP. I have an old Dell Dimension 4550 with a soon to fail HD so since I have a spare SSD, want to try it out but not sure about how to enable AHCI in bios or XP to make it work.

You likely can't enable it even if you can you have to provide the driver also a ssd over ata will be really slow likely slower than an actual ata hdd – Ramhound – 2014-10-02T02:19:15.057
