Can't Bridge Windows 8 Ethernet and Wireless Adapter

0

I'm trying to bridge my Windows 8 laptop's wired and wireless adapters so I can get internet on an older computer (not that old it's running Windows 7 Ultimate). I did this before a while back but now when I do it. The older computer shows the Local Area Connection is an Unidentified Connection and it is not allowing me to connect to the internet. On the laptop, it shows the network bridge worked and its enabled but no connect on the older computer. The older computer does register the network connection because when I bridge the connection the network icon on the bottom left shows the processing circle. But then a yellow warning sign afterwards.

Bridging is normally used to combine 2 or more conenctions into one increasing the speed of the overall connection. Are you sure you don't mean routing? – LPChip – 2014-07-21T21:15:13.840

Bridging means connecting multiple network segments. Anyway, the OP probably tries to use the Internet connection sharing, which actually performs routing. – Jens Erat – 2014-07-21T21:36:55.287

So how would I properly route the internet to the computer. Routing from the router isn't really an option the computer is on a different floor which is why I'm trying this. – JustThatTypeOfGuy – 2014-07-21T22:37:18.093
