Windows XP installation on Aspire one acer netbook

0

I would like to seek advise. I am trying to install Windows XP but the moment it reaches the Installation part (before finalizing installation) under 9 minutes, the screen Freezes. I can't do anything but to power off the notebook.

What i've done so far:

-CHKDSK HD
-Delete Partition, create a new one
-I have used 3 different XP old CDs same result

Can you guys tell me what's wrong?

How long have you left it in the frozen state? It could just be detecting hardware. – Simkill – 2014-04-25T13:15:33.583

@Simkill the mouse cursor is not movable, the loading bar at the lower end is not moving either. It's been 15-30 minutes frozen – user318294 – 2014-04-25T13:20:26.633

Yeah 15-30 minutes is too long. Which version of XP is it (home or pro)? Does it have service pack 3 bundled or is it the bog standard old one with no service packs? – Simkill – 2014-04-25T13:23:31.610

Probably non-standard drivers are required... Have you tried to boot from LiveCD/DVD/USB? – Jet – 2014-04-25T13:29:44.960

i am reformatting my HD using CD DRive Windows Profesional SP1, tried Sp3 same result. I'm not sure why it's doing this :S – user318294 – 2014-04-25T13:36:14.320

It can be because of your CD-Drive/CD-quality. Can you try installation from an iso file? – NKN – 2014-04-25T14:13:38.710

Note that Windows XP is passed its end of life, and is not safe to use any more. – ChrisInEdmonton – 2014-04-25T14:24:56.897

Do you know for sure that the hardware is good? I've had Windows installs freeze on me due to overheating, memory errors, bad hard disk, etc. – Adam – 2014-04-25T15:33:46.003
