How to explain the above data? Is that mean the 54.245.255.174 was blocked on 50.112.0.205?
but 54.245.255.174 is rubygems.org and I can access it from browser.
Because they may be blocking ICMP echo requests/responses aka pings – Ashtray – 2013-09-24T07:16:23.597
@Ashtray sudo traceroute -nT rubygems.org works. Thanks – raykin – 2013-09-24T08:11:10.333
@raykin, look in the
man traceroute
what does-T
flag give you. It sendsTCP SYN
probes instead of ICMP.-n
just prevents reverse DNS queries happening and just spits out addresses – Ashtray – 2013-09-24T09:34:34.590
