Can you outline how you got where you are? It seems like you've already installed the modem and then you're trying also to install a totally different type of modem. – David Schwartz – 2012-12-26T04:10:21.113

@DavidSchwartz I'm adding a NEW modem (a USB datacard). The steps are the same as you would install any other modem. But for this that COM port list is empty for some reason. How do I make it populate? (It's a brand new window install if it matters, and the modem shown already in the list is working fine, but I don't need it) – Ankit Fadia – 2012-12-26T04:41:48.833

Ahh, you're adding an additional modem? Did the drivers for it already install? – David Schwartz – 2012-12-26T04:50:08.640

@DavidSchwartz Yes, the (digitally signed) drivers are installed.

What do you see in the Device Manager? – David Schwartz – 2012-12-26T05:08:49.320

@DavidSchwartz Everything looks good in Device Manager

Please select show devices by connection (under View) and see what's connected to that enumerator. – David Schwartz – 2012-12-26T05:28:03.887

@DavidSchwartz Here's a screenshot.

That's not good. The enumerator driver isn't finding any devices on the bus. – David Schwartz – 2012-12-26T05:42:35.433

@DavidSchwartz What does that mean and what can I do? It used to work just fine in Windows7!! – Ankit Fadia – 2012-12-26T05:48:46.327
