WINDOWS 7 Pinging IP works, pinging domain does not but nslookup returns the IP. ipconfig /displaydns temporally fixes

0

This is a windows 7 computer.

This problem only occurs when using a WiFi interface.

I can ping the IP of google.com, but not "google.com". nslookup returns the google.com IP which i use to ping. When I run ipconfig /displaydns it sits for about two minutes then prints a bunch of A records and quits. This command for some reason fixes the issue entirely until I reboot. I am trying to:

A. Fix this issue permanently

and

B. Figure out why this is happening

Thanks ~~

UPDATE: ipconfig /flushdns will break the system again until i run displaydns again.

Try changing your DNS server settings under your WiFi adapter. – Ecstasy – 2019-12-09T17:33:31.123

Like I said, DNS is working properly. I can nslookup google.com and get the address. The DNS server is already set to 4.2.2.1. I can try to find a different DNS server, but I don't think that's the issue here. – helpmepls – 2019-12-09T17:37:11.547
