So the weirdest thing has happened. Somehow I managed to break my local git config and for the last several months my commits have had the email address davidallender@Davids-MBP.verizon.net. When this first happened I had been using my mobile hotspot on Verizon a lot and also got Verizon fios internet at home. Any idea what happened? Also, where are the different parts of that email coming from? davidallender looks like my username on this Mac, but Davids-MBP is not the computer name. And then how did git find out about verizon.net and why did it format all of this into an email address?
