issue with single path iScsi storage to two different xenserver each

0

Here is the situation that i am trying to setup for testing (refer image)

  • Server/PC with one port to storage (each)
  • Server/PC with one port to the other Server/PC

Environment: Xenserver XCP v8 & Synology NAS

situation image explanation

Currently, both Server/PC are sitting in the same Xenserver Pool.

I had been getting the error message of "unable to login to the SR" when i try to connect the iSCSI to the second server/PC.

sample error

IP distribution to the following device:

Server/PC 1 - 10.1.0.1 (port 1 to Server/PC 2)
Server/PC 2 - 10.1.0.2 (port 1 to Server/PC 1)
Server/PC 1 - 10.2.0.101 (port 2 to SR)
Server/PC 2 - 10.2.0.102 (port 2 to SR)
SR - 10.2.0.103

The iSCSI target had been configured without CHAP authentication and LUN is able to detect during the SR attach to Server/PC 1 but not in Server/PC 2.

Additional information that i found in logs.

SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_68(, ISCSI login failed - check access settings for the initiator on the storage, if CHAP is used verify CHAP credentials, )

SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_47(, The SR is not available [opterr=The SR is not available [opterr=no such volume group: VG_XenStorage-eb8768c8-bd1a-b9f2-fc79-e0be62cbde5d]], )

I have tried turning on/off the multipath in xenserver, it does not help in this situation.

Both Server/PC(s) are able to ping to SR from the xenconsole without any problem.

I have no other clues to troubleshoot further, would appreciate if anyone could guide me where to check next.
