I have an Asus ROG GL702vm https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-GL702VM/
I have a usb and video(HDMI) dock (that connects via USB-C/Thunderboldt) that I got from Amazon that worked to connect another HDMI display and more USB devices. However, I got a new job and they issued me 2 more monitors and a really nice dock to connect more USB devices and more monitors (that connects via USB-C/Thunderboldt). It is a Dell WD19. https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-docking-station-wd19-180w/apd/210-ariq/pc-accessories
The confusion I have is that the dock I purchased from Amazon works to display video over the HDMI port but the nice new dock will not display video (HDMI or Display port) but it connects all of the USB devices just fine through it. I would love to just use the new dock to simplify moving all video and usb devices from my work laptop(Dell Latitude) to my personal laptop(Asus ROG GL702vm) after my shift is done.
I updated my BIOS on my Asus ROG GL702vm to ensure I have the latest drivers for USB-c/thunderboldt. I also tried connecting my dock from amazon to the usb-c port on the dell wd19 dock but it still did not work to have any video display on a monitor.
I would love suggestions or to find out why it does not work (dock Compatability? something that my laptop does not support?)
