How to prevent windows 10 installation from changing other hard drives?

0

I have 2 Hard drives in my computer, in first drive, I have windows 10 and ubuntu dual boot (windows 10 says legacy BIOS mode in systeminfo). I tried to install windows 10 on second drive, and in windows installation I chose the second HDD, But it also changed my first drive and destroyed the grub boot loader. Why windows changed my first drive while I chose to install on second drive and how to tell windows not to touch other drives during installation?

1When installing in UEFI mode, the installer is supposed o install the EFI files in the ESP (EFI System Partition) which may or may not reside in the same driver where the main system partition is being installed. – None – 2019-08-08T18:16:37.090

1Disconnect any hard drive you don't want changed before installation. – Moab – 2019-08-08T18:47:11.363
