Windows folder keyboard shortcut assigning issue (win 10)

0

I assigned a keyboard shortcut to a shortcut folder on desktop (right click shortcut folder > properties > shortcuts tab > Shortcut key) and removed the assigned shortcut. Now the shortcut key field in properties shows "none".

But when I press the same combination of keys assigned to it earlier, the shortcut is triggered and the folder opens.

Any ideas of why this is happening and how to fix?

Edit 1: I've checked out the page https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/how-do-i-remove-or-clear-custom-keyboard-shortcuts/52c34893-bc0c-4f80-b42a-67898969bb8c?auth=1 but the solution above does not seem to work for me.
