I have a Lenovo Z500 and I recently dual-booted the machine with Linux. I booted the laptop into Windows and found out it's at 100% disk usage all the time. Running the machine on my Linux partition however has no performance issues whatsoever.
I've defragmented the Windows partitions yet the disk usage is still at 100%. I've followed this answer regarding the AHCI driver but to no avail.

Like 100% disk usage for Months? Weeks Days? Hours? Windows 10 thrashes the disk pretty good under normal usage. Modern laptop hdd are vey slow. – Damon – 2018-01-03T06:30:02.917
