Can’t Access Network Via File Explorer

0

I have a LAN connection between my laptop (Windows 8.1) (192.168.1.3) and my PC (Windows 7) (192.168.1.2) with an Ethernet cable, but the problem is I can access (read/write) all the files in the PC from the laptop just with Remote Desktop connection!! It’s wired (or maybe “weird”?) – when I type \\192.168.1.2 into the address bar of File Explorer, this error:

Windows Can’t Access to the \\192.168.1.2

is displayed, but when I write 192.168.1.2 in the remote desktop connection it’s OK and will be connect and all works fine! But I need to access my files from the File Explorer not the remote desktop. How can I do that? What have I done wrong?

Amin

3Try typing \\192.168.1.2\c$ into the file explorer. Just cause Im curious if you get the same error. – Cheesus Crust – 2017-11-03T18:38:25.160

Is there any share on 192.168.1.2? Can you access \192.168.1.2<theshare> from the 192.168.1.2 pc? Does the problem still persist when the firewall ist disabled for all network types on 192.168.1.2? – marsh-wiggle – 2017-11-03T19:41:18.567
