What are GPXE and Syslinux?

0

I am studying for my networking exam soon and there are two things that I don't fully understand and I find it rather difficult to find any clear information about this.

Could you please give me a "ELI5" type of explanation about these two?

The way I understand is that they're both bootloaders that can be used to boot linux through the network by downloading the kernel, right?

Is the main difference between them that GPXE uses TFTP while syslinux uses TCP/IP?

2GPXE is a fork of iPXE. It has a different focus: PXE. PXELINUX does not do PXE. – Daniel B – 2017-05-12T21:25:00.763

Does the Wikipedia article and Syslinux homepage help?
