Moving files from one partition to another and slow speed in xp

0

I don't have a UPS and I had a power cut.

After I restarted my PC I noticed its performing slow all of a sudden. Previously when I would transfer my data to another partition it would go above 20 mbps and right now its just 3 mbps.

It has happened before also. I reinstall the OS. I know it can be done without reinstalling the OS but how?

1You could try chkdsk /r on all your drives to hide bad sectors. I would say if it is in that bad condition, back up your data now. Get a new hard drive, and use a clone program like partedmagic, gparted, or anyone of 100 other choices. – cybernard – 2016-09-07T03:08:09.900

You said last time you had to reinstall the OS to fix it. But now you know you don't have to do that. How can you tell? – Randy Schuman – 2016-09-07T05:49:39.917

because there was a power cut ago and after that it was back again normal like no problem at all i dont know how powercut is changing my pc – Agam Ghai – 2016-09-08T00:34:50.227

thanks cybernard do you think bitorrent has to do something with it ? – Agam Ghai – 2016-09-08T00:35:27.577

@AgamGhai BitTorrent has nothing to do with anything. Sure you can download cloning programs from that but it does not have anything to do with your HDD. (if that was the case it would be your internet, not your disc) – 7h3w1z4rd – 2016-09-20T17:47:32.653
