Started programming in Atari Basic in late 70s then C, Fortan and the likes.
With the implementation of the company Intranet, I pushed all my projects toward Web-enable Apps, letting Web designer worry about the user interface so I can concentrate on solving problems.
My hope is that standards implementations get to a point where we no longer need to include external libraries to ensure cross browsers compatibility but I see it going the way of C's standard libraries (write once compiles everywhere) and Java (write once run everywhere).
History has proven that we can't agree on standards but I am still hopefully.
