I'm a telecommunications network engineer for an international grocery warehousing corporation.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading, crosswords, helping people secure their wifi, and rescuing cats.
Education
- Largely self-taught
- Multiple classes and up-to-date certifications from Avaya and RingCentral
- CompTIA Network+ class (would have the cert, but there won't be a test in my area till COVID-19 is over)
Experience:
- Light sysadmin (~4 years at a small software company)
- Light to Moderate data networking (~5 years designing and installing data networks for small businesses)
- Advanced data and telecom infrastructure (~7 years installing data network infrastructure hardware and cabling in the private sector, US government agencies, US military)
- Advanced on-prem legacy telecom systems experience including (but not limited to) PBXs from Avaya/Lucent/AT&T, Nortel, Samsung, and Cisco (~7 years and counting)
- Moderate to Advanced VOIP/SIP PBX experience including RingCentral, Jive PBX, 3CX, and Cisco UCM hosted (~4 years and counting)
- Advanced overhead paging experience, which is generally a lot less vendor-specific than anything listed above, but for what it's worth I've worked with hardware from Valcom, Bogen, Avaya/Lucent/AT&T, Algo, Audiocodes, CyberData, and countless others (~8 years and counting)
