Ok, let's see. Middle-aged geek and electronics hardware design engineer by trade. Skipping all the other stuff, I started with Linux (Red Hat 6.2) in 1998 when I started my Masters. I have used it since then as my primary OS at both home and work, save for a few short years with a company that wouldn't allow it (but then that's why we have virtual machines!). IT has never been the sole focus of any job I have done, but I have gotten more or less involved as projects came and went.
Currently I help administer a bunch of servers, and also a host of Linux test-jigs (the migrating of which was one of my favourite achievements of the past year!).
With the slow death of linuxforums.org (and then the hack of user details too) I have finally decided to change over to the StackExchange forums. So here we go!
