UK-based DevOps practitioner. I've spent fifteen years building platforms out of open source software and setting up teams to run them. I work closely with young companies to ensure their products are scalable and robust, and to eliminate nasty surprises further down the line.

Nowadays it's all about the cloud. I've spent the last couple of years working with AWS - now with Docker thrown in - and helping dev & infra teams engineer stacks that'll run reliably on large estates of throwaway nodes.

Some of my fave things are Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Ubuntu, Docker, LXC, AWS, Python (if you can't dev it isn't DevOps), monitoring, load testing, ZFS, documentation, Chef, Jenkins, Nginx, Bash, Fish, Raspberry Pi, unit tests, wireshark, firebug, HTTP2 and about a million others that won't fit in this box.
