40 years in electronics and computing. I used to call myself a "programmer" which meant I could design, build, do VLSI layout, assemble, write the monitor code (that BIOS to you youngsters), assembly language, 3G language (C,Basic), design the network or communications structure (think UUCP), networking, user interface, database design and administration, menu, workflow, conversion, implementation and support.

Apparently that's now called a FullStack Programmer, except they wouldn't know an acoustic coupler from RS232 connector, nor would they know if they are an 8er or 6er. Probably never solder suckered out a Z80 chip or built full stack CUI.

So I am a technologist, computerist or more clearly I work electronic stuff. Software and hardware engineer. Basically software and hardware fear me and start working if it notices I am after it.

I have seen so many fads that I can't name them all, are Dockers in that category?

Yeah and I still worry that maybe CSS and Javascript are going to be yanked out of HTML specifications, because they are not part of the HTML spec. Right?

My domain was purchased in May of 1995 which is probably before many who are reading this were born. It only took me 5 seconds to go, HOLY SHIT this could be big, when I saw the first WWW/CERN specification and use of HTML on the internet. The Internet was there to telnet to remote systems without acoustic couplers.

AND YET I still need to ask questions and just discovered CloudFlare, duh!
