StackExchange is not a useful resource for asking questions, only for lucking out and landing on answers from a search engine. In that one narrow aspect, Joel Spolsky has succeeded - but only by throwing thousands of babies out with bathwater which becomes more toxic over time, dominated by StackOverlords with no purpose other than to rule over their fiefdom.
StackExchange's usefulness is largely at an end because the community has been poisoned from within. This poisoning was coded into the very fabric of the site - click above for clarification.
To that end, I do not actively participate on any StackExchange sites with the possible esoteric exceptions such as Tor and RasPi. I will happily take what value SE offers in search "artifacts," but it does not deserve or merit my - or your - input.
