My first experience with computers was with a Sanyo MBC 550 running DOS -but not compatible with IBM!–. I graduated in 1994 in Electrical Engineering (back home in Venezuela) and later in 2000 as Specialist in Operations Management.

I fell in love with programming when I discovered BASIC and was able to write a program that made transitioning patterns of lines and circles (imagine an evolving kaleidoscope). Since then, I’ve written many programs on almost anything, from an HP-28S calculator to Industrial automation (Siemens and AB PLCs) and websites (using rails as of late).

I moved to the United States in 2001 and since then I’ve held many engineering positions being able to leverage my knowledge of statistics, quality systems, maintenance and programming.

I started playing the Bass guitar in 2001 and now own a collection consiting of a Fender Precision, a MusicMan Sterling, a Variax 700, an Ibanez AEB10ELG, and a couple guitars and keyboards.

Currently I live in Illinois in company of my charming wife (excellent writer and translator) and two beautiful daughters.
