Ubuntu 12.04.2, 3.2.0-49-generic, x64 hostapd from saucy (hostapd_1.0-3ubuntu2_amd64)

Have tried from precise-updates as well to no avail.

You can see in the debug output below, hostapd sends the EAPOL-Key request to the client, but hears nothing back...

I've tried:

  • WPA only
  • WPA + WPA2
  • several hostapd versions from 0.7.6 onwards

Stations I've tried connecting with are a laptop (w7) and an iPhone 3S

I met the similar problem with hostapd_1.0-3+b1_armhf.deb several days ago, when i setup wpa on my ap (raspberry pi), evenif the passpharse was inputted correctly, the connection always failed by password authentication.

After trying a newer version(hostapd_2.1-0ubuntu4_armhf.deb), the problem is gone. I don't know the reason of this issue, looks like it is caused by hostapd itself, not your config.

you can try a newer version of hostapd, hope it works on your device.
