I have an old server that I bought second-hand: IBM System X3250 M4 E3-1270v2.
It came with a 256GB HDD. I would like to upgrade this to a 1TB SSD.
I found this IBM support page for hard-drive accessories, and this page with product info.
Open bay models supporting 3.5-inch Simple-Swap SATA or 2.5-inch Hot-Swap SAS/SATA hard disk drives
Would I be able to replace the drive with a modern SATA SSD? (I'm in New Zealand so would be buying one of these from PB Tech.)
I haven't worked with server hardware before so I'm not sure if I can buy a drive from a consumer PC parts store, or if current drives are backwards compatible with 10+ year old servers.
